I changed up my Montessori language program a while back and the author is adamant that writing in cursive will not affect reading in manuscript. I decided to go for the transition about 6 months ago. I invested in new sandpaper letters and a cursive moveable alphabet. My children are fascinated with cursive and love it so far. Now I wish I had started there!Bess Wuertzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15857762989347193766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6890159205524669861.post-81857955378131765502015-07-16T13:36:52.259-04:002015-07-16T13:36:52.259-04:00My 7yo sees a functional neurologist for her ADHD,...My 7yo sees a functional neurologist for her ADHD, and he says it's important to start with cursive, and that it isn't true that you have to learn to write in print in order to learn to read it. My kids did print in preschool, but we've done cursive from early on (kindergarten-ish), and they've both done well with it. Just my two cents, I know it's controversial.Michelle Perjakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14593398712937680046noreply@blogger.com
