My littlest man just turn 3 months old. His sudden interest in grasping has put me on the hunt for some new Montessori infant items. Etsy is a great resource for handmade children's items. It has an ever growing number of Montessori inspired items.
My first stop was with The Pink House. I original purchased nearly every product in their line when William was 6 months old. He really loved the grasping beads and the peg in cup. I decided to go back and purchase the crocheted rattle for Lockelan. I must say that he already adores it. It has such a gentle sound. If their is a young infant in your life then I highly recommend the 5 piece set. The quality is impeccable.
My next stop was with Indie Bambino. I was looking for some simple wood rings. I was able to purchase a set of three for a song. Not only are the rings made of untreated birch, you are able to pick your finish. I chose traditional olive oil and beeswax. The rings are beautiful. Lockelan is quite taken with them. The first ring I gave him went in his mouth immediately.
I didn't actually purchase from Bella's Casa but I wish I had discovered the shop earlier. They offer a set of the four classic Montessori mobiles which includes the Munari, Octahedron, Gobbi and Dancer mobiles. Lockelan is a bit too old for these now but they will be on my short list should we be blessed with another child in the future.
