Welcome

This blog is about our family's journey as we strive to fill our home with grace and peace. Our primary goal is to see our children live out their days in a manner that pleases the Lord.

We use the Montessori Method at home.  It directs our academic pursuits as part of our home school.  We also employ Montessori theory in every day life... or at least try to!  We are also paer of a Classical Conversations community, a Christian focused, classical education program.  It's a great fit that allows us to keep our Montessori roots.
If you'd like to contact me, I can be reached via email at:

I love to interact with others so comment on my posts, I do try to respond.  I also suggest following the Grace and Green Pastures Facebook page.  I frequently post extra tidbits, photos and share helpful things I find.  I also have a twitter account.  I can frequently be found on the Montessori Homeschooling Facebook Group.  It's a really phenomenal group of people.

I used to have a blogging schedules with specific themes for topics.  Life won a bit too many times on that front.  The reality is that you'll never know what I'll post or when.  I like to keep everyone on their toes like that.  Yes, I talk about our home school adventures - anything from updates to tips.  I also talk about special family adventures, deep thoughts and gangnam style.  So yes, it's really up for grabs.  But, it's my blog, right?

I try to be honest and upfront about my challenges.  I truly desire to see every home school parent receive the support they need.  Hopefully by now we all know that most of the great home school photos you see across the Internet are just good moments amidst a journey that requires large amounts of energy and patience.  It's hard not to push the mess aside and tell the kids to smile.

If you're struggling and you just need someone to listen, please feel free to contact me.  It's hard, I know.  I do my best to respond depending on how crazy life is at the moment.  Of course, if you just had the best day of your life and you want to share that as well, go for it!  I love hearing about the good things too.  As a mom that's on her own journey, I have a lot of learning to do myself.  I have my own perspective and I certainly don't have all the answers; nor do I always follow Maria Montessori's teachings to the letter.  I have to adapt to what works for our unique situation - just as you should do!
